Is this is the worst team we've ever had?

I still standby my earlier comments about Maher but I do also want to raise another perspective I didn’t consider until the dust settled.

People say Maher has no more “excuses” now, I still agree he needs to be more versatile and reset the system/formation but he has plenty of “excuses” left in my opinion. The suggestion ‘we have signings now, so we should be playing better’ doesn’t add up when we think Maher and John Still were feeding off scraps in the closing transfer market with only a handful of free agents left and the majority of our first targets going to other clubs.. we have also had the spine of our team completely ripped out with Miley injured, Kensdale and Cardwell gone..

Maybe I’m just stuck in a dream world of wanting nothing but success for Maher, I know he needs to change something but I don’t like the shouts of this being the worst team we’ve had and that his employment needs to be considered, I think it’s reactionary following a very disappointing couple of games, but I think a few need to understand he’s still had it incredibly tough and I don’t believe he’s still been given a fair crack at building a team how he wants it.. by all means If things do not improve by January then we can have that conversation, but I firmly believe he’s still doing work with one arm tied behind his back.

Worst players or worst team ?

Quite the difference.

Worst players? I'd say bottom quartile but not the worst.

Worst team? I think the way we play is up there with our worst team performances of dire, lack of entertainment, lack of attacking flair and intent, lack of ideas lack of positive mentality.

Phil browns 532, Alvin martins 532 even peter Taylors 532 some of the worst. I see a trend....

Watching us lose 2.0 at home to Lincoln with Ryan Robinson in goal and Michael Husbands up front was the low of the low for me.

We all knew Robinson was awful, he was thrown in. Husbands looked sharp in pre season and then turned into a flop and we were really powder puff that night. That was a tough few weeks to be a Blues fan. That team was dog poo.

Losing at home to Wrexham to get relegated from Division Two (League One as it is now). Fans doing a sit in protest at full time. Muppets breaking the amazing goal posts that were unique to our club was also pretty low that day.

Then also losing at home to Huddersfield the season before (think it was them). Andy Harris was a walking disaster that day! Low times.

Terrible teams, but we all knew they were terrible teams. We don't have a terrible team now, we just are not performing.

The 1.0 defeat at home to Kinstonian was a mess too.

We have had some bloody awful teams, this is not one of them! They are just badly off of the pace at the moment.

Nowhere near imo. The majority of the sides that Alvin Martin put out were the worst of the worse.

As someone already stated they stayed in the league therefore better factually a higher level than this lot. Don't get me wrong they were bad times but my god this a whole league below. We are on par with part time football clubs.

At least we’re still creating chances and yesterday .. while awful .. we could’ve scored. The team Molesley took down from L2 and Brown was unable to save was worse. I distinctly remember us going through games without a shot. We’d not be here in the first place if it wasn’t for that season.

We were beating Solihull 2 weeks ago and everyone was on here saying how great we were. Maher, Currie and Bentley have a huge job on their hands but what I hope is the players are still with them. They all looked shocked by the reactions in the West yesterday as did some players. Maybe that’ll give them the kick up the backside they need. Maybe we care more as we’ve developed a bond with a lot of these players & know they can play better.

We never had players like Gus who cared and fought for the shirt in that season. People have short memories. I don’t remember a single player having their own song in those depressing few years.

No, I don't think so. Something is wrong, that needs sorting out, but we've seen this side pretty much destroy Eastleigh and Solihull Moors just last month. There are a few of them that are well off form, and Collin seems to have lost confidence. Quite repairable on the training pitch.

There may come a time in the future (this season) when the pitchfork gang need to be out in force looking for blood, but it's not yet in my view. Let's see how the coaching team manage and handle our current situation before too many replacement lists are drawn up. Thankfully, the outraged group on here are regular Maher removal merchants, I'd be more worried if the silent majority took to their keyboards. We are a club in transition, stuff has happened which means we're not going to **** the league, and change will take time as a result.

Actually still think this squad with a couple of additions could make the play offs . What's lacking is tactical and getting the best out of players we have .Add to this someone who can motivate and change a style of play when the opposition are outplaying us

I agree. Massively underperforming. Feels a like Steve Wignal scenario again.
