Went to see Concord Rangers play Bishops Stortford last night and Johnny Herd and Lee Sawyer played for Bishops Stortford. In addition, Ryan Auger was listed as sub in the programme for them but was not actually in the squad. Sad to see Johnny at this level now as always liked him at Southend. Asbo Sawyer has just signed for them from Chelmsford apparently and was substituted half way through the second half.

What a waste of talent Lee Sawyer was

Herd and Auger found their level. Sawyer just wasted a career.

Herd always makes me think of the ties against Chelsea. Firstly, the long throw for the Clarke goal. Secondly, just seeing him on the same pitch as Michael Ballack, someone who played more internationals than Herd played Football League games. Ballack just looked so imperious, Herd looked tiny next to him.

No matter how his career ends, those two games are decent ones to tell the grandkids about!

And yet the grandkids will always be more interested in their great-grandfather's story of being an ewok.

I always hoped Herd would made his way back into the Football League. Does Kyle Asante still play after the car accident?
