As callous as it sounds, (and assuming it's true) the hostage would have died a far more painful and humiliating death at the hands of ISIS than (s)he did.

Callous, maybe but absolutely true. There is a lot of doubt over the claim that she was killed in that building anyway as the pictures released don't show a building recently hit by bombing. No rising smoke, no scorch marks etc.

Agree with this. Iraq may have been invaded for spurious reasons but if a genocidal dictator is deposed then I don't care what the reasons given for doing that.
