Post-Match Thread and Ratings Kings Lynn Town 0-1 Southend United

I'd be quite happy with a marquee eyebrows striker signing. Send a statement out, competition for places, and allows for injuries and rotation, i remember even with tillys promotion team there were games where it was dudfield and bramble and not gray and eastwood.

Good win however I'm worried that it was such a slender margin against a side that I am told are dreadful at this level, as their results last season showed. Murphy's second half shot was shocking and he needs to buck his ideas up.

Great to be travelling watching the Blues again

Let’s not get carried away, a truly great start, still got 43 games to go and we’ve only defeated one of the sides that almost certainly would have been relegated last season. Also whilst they played the ball around well throughout last season suffered a number heavy defeats consistently.

I'm a miserable git but I really do think we'll go up. I'm a PB fan and think we've got the right man for the job.

Interesting editing. Apart from our goal we hardly got a kick it seems!

I certainly feels good to walk into work this morning and not having some smart alec winding me up about Saturday's result....

I agree a good win, all wins are good at any level. I also have concerns at such a slender margin against probably the worse side in this league last season. This is based on having seen every team in this league last season, albeit on stream, only Weymouth come close in my opinion, they also conceded 98 goals.
This game was only an introduction to the league and Stockport will be a totally different experience.

For some balance is it not true that they basically furloughed their entire first team and played kids to fulfil fixtures? I suspect they will hope to be lower mid table (all be it they are more likely to be in a relegation scarp than a playoff push)

Agree Stockport will be a good benchmark.

It was only a slender margin as a combination of leaving our shooting boots at home and the KL keeper playing a blinder kept the scoreline down.
Let's not forget, this is to all intents and purposes a new team PB has assembled. Give them a few more games to settle in with each other and we'll be fine.

You can’t judge until 10 games in - they brought in 7/8 new players including the goal keeper who even though he is 36 now probably has the best background of any in the League.

They have also gone full time now.
The fact that everyone got stuck in is a good sign - the pitch and facilities will be a shock to some but Brown has recruited wisely as most have had experience at this level already.

I don’t think we should actually fear anyone.

It’s true about staff were being furloughed but that didn’t happen until March and it wasn’t all their key players and there were a few loan players that came in. They also suffered big defeats throughout the season.
To their credit they did complete their season, making a point of not talking the easy option that Dover ran with. For that reason I believe they were a credit to the League and deserve their right to complete for a further season.

The BBC had an interesting interpretation of our formation in their match report!

Not sure Demi and White up top is going to work!
