Just heard on Liverpool tv news that the above date is fixed for our game against the Reds.
It may be valentines night but what a chance to see our true love Southend playing at one of the great stadiums.
So lets hope we can arrange a big following to shout the lads onto victory.
Also a chance to sit on the famous Liverpool Kop and sing for Southend!
(Yes Liverpool open the kop only for FA Youth cup fixtures.)
Got to be worth a trip!

Tempted to do this, but the travel will be too expensive :(.

Shame its not at the hall as we would have got a good crowd in for that.

Wonder what sort of crowd they will get at anfield? Maybe 5k +

Ah mate but think of the yoof who'll probably never play at such a stadium in their short careers. We've only played there twice(?) in 105 years (I think....)

If you are not sure ask Canveyshrimper he was at both games.:smiles:

Yes, we've played them 5 times in three cup ties. Beat them at home 1956/7. Lost at home in the replay after an away draw the following season and then, more recently, the away defeat in a replay (when referee Keith Hackett gave us nothing all evening!) after the home draw in 1978/9.

Thanks for putting the record straight Mick. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our Youths. Lets hope they do themselves proud!

& don't forget the Derrick Parker 1 on 1 early on when 0-0. The useless **** repeated his poor showing from the origingal game! Its up there with Revs poor header against Chelski at home when we were 1-0 up!

There will be tops 1500 - 2000 there and i would say about 150 from us, shame though as we could of done with the support last night aswell as was about 30
