I know this has been done before nut things move on.

Looking for a decent local restaurant. Any recommendations? Was thinking of The Anchor in Hullbridge.

The Old Windmill in South Hanningfield is good. Never had a problem with the food but the service can be a bit slow somtimes.

The food at the Anchor was good too. If you like eating off slabs of wood with your chips in what looks like a miniature shopping trolley then you'll love it.

Very Nice Cyril. The last time I went there the people we went with were related to the Head chef so we had a nice table in the window and some decent grub.

I always reckon on getting decent food at The Miler and Carter Silver Jubilee on the Eastwood Road. Popped into Grand central in Bas the other weekend. Decent food there too.

Food at The Anchor was fantastic but the venue was a little too TOWIE for my liking.

I reckon midweek would be a better option.

Went to a place just off Southend High Street - Mangetout at the weekend. Small, noisy, excellent food. Very good.

The old Carpenters Arms has had an overhaul and is very nice now. Good, solid food with a bit of a modern twist.

The Anchor is fine during the week, been there a few times. It's always rammed on weekends.

Remind me not to order the soup :stunned:

Anyone been to Bourgee yet the new Steak & Lobster place next to the Kursal? Booked in there for next month
