I see that Mark Cooper has been appointed as manager of relegation threatened Conference side AFC Telford (who nearly beat us in the F.A. Cup a few years ago).

Can't remember if he was ever a permanent signing but I do remember him playing for us (Southend) as a loan player (I think from Exeter?) Often wondered if he was one of our first ever "loan signings". I knew that silly loan idea would never catch on .........:omg:

Spitting image of his dad but nothing like Tommy Cooper ......................

What? Just a month at AFC Telford (who are now bottom of the Conference) and he has left to go to Swindon ....... it's mad, mad world out there .........

Not quite sure how to update this thread ...........

Mark Cooper left Swindon (or was he sacked) and has also managed Notts County (well who hasn't recently?) .......

......... and now is manager of Forest Green (a team that no-one is quite sure where they are located but everyone knows about their pie position).

He (Mark Cooper) must be close to managing as many clubs as Peter Taylor ..............
