Another great zone myth. Ask the chairman of Portsmouth, Plymouth, Luton and Northampton to name but a few who spent more than us.

And how many of those got promotion? Only Plymouth even got as far as the playoffs..

Ask the chairman of Accrington, York city, Newport, Morecambe, Exeter, Mansfield town. Who are on extremely low budgets compared to us last season (sending £25k on Bolger and all the loans etc..) Dagenham&Redbridge and Wycombe wanderers can't even fill their bench up and they have to sign players on non contract terms.

Phil Brown even admitted in the echo that he was backed well by Ron last year with his backroom staff size, the Bolger fee and loans.

Again someone else covered that myth on another post.

Facts are our turnover placed us 11th financially in L2. Meaning their were at least 5 teams with lower attendances in the division who make far more money from their stadium than us.

Or more likely have owners who put more money in.

How much do you think those 2,000 Luton fans spent in the magnificent facilities in our north bank. Remember you have no option to even buy a pint, before, during and after the match when you hire a box at RH. That's the reason we are overtaken by some of these 'tin pot' clubs not because someone puts their hand in their pocket

How is it a myth when its true?! PB admits it himself.

Yes he did, like so many chairman he chased fools gold, pushed gladly along by fans and staff alike.

Think he's learnt his lesson now though, hence the roll of SK to act as the sheriff of Nottingham.

"The sheriffs were unpaid by the king (sounds about right), and had to pay a yearly sum to hold the office (Sheriff Brady?). No matter. The sheriffs made enough money from their various duties to pay off the king and still make a handsome profit. There were many attempts to reform the sheriffs, but there were always some rotten apples."

The amount some owners put in adds up to a little more than we would make from a few pies. Luton brought 2,000 but we are one of the most undervisited club in the lower leagues due to our location. We arent missing a massive trick there.

I think you are missing the point. Lots of clubs are now saying that gate receipts are only 50% of their income. The stats and financial tables back up hat I'm saying. Owners can no longer just inject cash under the fair play rules.

Southend fans probably spent far more on beer at Dagenham than they would at RH. As well as a bar for away support and the two bars in the main stand, they have a decent bar upstairs. Unlike del boy's corner bar (platinum suite) at RH lots of people stayed after the game. Even PB came in for a chat and a drink, Dagenham's fans were fine with that by the way.

When this was discussed recently regarding Leyton Orient it was confirmed that owners can inject money, as its what the Orient owner does. The Col U boss has been doing it for years.

As for catering, whilst its a nice income to have I doubt its a major money maker hence our catering is outsourced anyway.

Yes done them the world of good hasn't it.
