Of course it is too early to get excited, and start jumping up and down and weeing yourself.

Must admit in between the feelings of depressed desolation I (like all of us) have been feeling lately, there has been a tiny part of my brain that keeps telling me that the players & management would not keep putting in heroic parformances unless they knew something positive was around the corner.

I also wonder if RM has been loaning the players & staff money in lieu of salary from one of his other companies. Would make sense if either the actual club itself a) simply has no money to pay them, or b) he is going to sell the club to the 'consortium' or someone else (whilst retaining the new stadium/retail development part for himself) and wants to make the bottom line look less scary to the buyers.

I just can't believe the players would continue with hardly a moan (aside from Macca) at a time when they'd not only have mortgage payments to meet but also Christmas credit card statements etc dropping through the letter box. They must be getting some 'help' from somewhere..

I think you will find it is called the PFA, that tends to help players out during these times.

I think, either before the season is out, or over pre-season, we will see some action at FF. Tilson will then be given some funds to improve the side over the course of the summer, and we will actually sign some players.

......Please understand that this is not just another of those mates friends dogs brother said stories! A member of my family is an accountant at a big firm. He is not a football fan of any great shape although he has been to RH a few times with me. On Friday afternoon, one of his senior partners told him that he had been working on something to do with Southend and mistakenly believing that my family memebr was a fan he said, just hang in there for a couple of months....everything will reveal itself to your benefit! He wouldnt say anymore and my family member didnt know what he was on about anyway! He just phoned me to ask if SUFC were looking for a buyer!!!!!!

Sorry I cant put any more light on this but it does at least seem that something pretty large is going on behind the scenes. Oh and the players are apparently getting paid today (Annonymous player told me!)

The way things are going, this could coincide with our relegation. What possible news could make relegation feel any better?

Reading these comments on here just makes it even more frustrating! The accountant guy is not the sort to spread an idle rumour but wanted to reassure my Cousin that the club is going to be on a firmer footing very soon. How? I dont know but the accountant is a merger and acquisition specialist. Having said that, my Cousin says that he is not working directly with RM or SUFC but one of his clients is! I asked my Cousin to find out more but he just doesnt see things the way we do and says that it is client confidentiality and cannot be broken!

I was told something similar from somebody who works at the club and from somebody else at HMC. I think this more to do with Sports Relief or Sports Aid where Geoffrey King has been chosen to participate in celebrity cage fighting with the highest bidder from a supporter:punch:. Also Mr King is to wear no protective gear and is to have his hands tied up behind his back, and the fight is only over after 12 rounds regardless of the physical state of the fighters.
