ShrimperZone CC v Parkway Sports

This mob won my division last season and sit 3rd in the FC Championship. This season they're sitting in 4th, I'm hoping that maybe they're prioritising FC and may rest one or two of their superstars (including 587k Penn) but I still don't expect to get much from the game.

We're at full strength apart from Graham who is at lively so Hartburn comes in. Barrowdale and Digana make their OD debuts, though Digana is at lively.

Southchurch Village CC vs Aztecs CC

4th vs 2nd. The top four separated by four points. Although I won't be challenging for top spot I beat the league leaders two weeks ago.

Full-strength team out, let's see how we do.

Ouch.

End of Over 7: 24-2, runrate=3.43
Lias 4-1-14-1
Lamey* 11 (17 balls)
Mcleod 7 (13 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba c. Beard b. Lias 0 (FOW: 10/2)

BATTY SHRIMPERS v The Flying Ferrets

4th (me) against 5th. My sides probably as fit as it's been for weeks, but still probably won't be enough.

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 18: 74-1, runrate=4.11
Lindop 4-0-22-0
Catt* 4 (12 balls)
Bishop 49 (54 balls)

Last Wicket: Baker b. Begg 18 (FOW: 68/1)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIBS DIPPERS v Mighty White Rose

Top of the table Mrs BB takes on the side in 7th, and is taking a bit of a hammering at the moment.

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 17: 101-2, runrate=5.94
Kealey 2-0-15-0
Hargreaves* 59 (50 balls)
Muller 28 (35 balls)

Last Wicket: Howley b. Mohammed 5 (FOW: 19/2)

Nice little recovery here. It's cloudy and humid so every run counts. I still can't see us winning but NRR could come into play when it comes down to deciding the relegation places so could do with it at least being tight.

End of Over 21: 80-2, runrate=3.81
Sattaur 4-1-11-0
Lamey* 41 (68 balls)
Mcleod 33 (46 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba c. Beard b. Lias 0 (FOW: 10/2)

FFS, having seen off their 4 monster bowlers, their crapper comes on:

Gareth De villiers (2634091)
Battrick Rating: 16,395
Wages: £3,158 p/w

Some runs to be plundered methinks! Oh. Grrrrr.....

End of Over 24: 90-4, runrate=3.75
De villiers 2-0-7-2
Marriott* 1 (1 balls)
Mcleod 38 (52 balls)

Last Wicket: Sandile c. Evan b. De villiers 1 (FOW: 85/4)

Game over.

End of Over 25: 91-6, runrate=3.64
Sattaur 6-1-14-2
Benjamin* 1 (1 balls)
Mcleod 38 (55 balls)

Last Wicket: Tate b. Sattaur 0 (FOW: 90/6)

Won by 9 wickets.

Don't think I'll lose from here this week

Hitchcock 2-1-10-0
Hoult* 10 (10 balls)
Marcel 9 (8 balls)

With conditions as they are, I think he may have too many...

BATTY SHRIMPERS v The Flying Ferrets

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 39: 172-1, runrate=4.41
Frazer 8-0-34-0
Bishop* 105 (114 balls)
Catt 45 (78 balls)

Last Wicket: Baker b. Begg 18 (FOW: 68/1)

Good fightback by Mrs BB

DIBS DIPPERS v Mighty White Rose

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 39: 185-6, runrate=4.74
York 8-0-22-2
Devins* 20 (38 balls)
Worsley 7 (7 balls)

Last Wicket: Farrow lbw b. York 0 (FOW: 169/6)

Restricted them to 235-8 in the end. Good effort in the last 10, but probably 40-50 too many.

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 50: 235-8, runrate=4.70
Singh 10-0-38-2
Catt* 73 (104 balls)
Labont 6 (6 balls)

Last Wicket: De bruyn lbw b. Burns 0 (FOW: 227/8)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB chasing 235 to win.

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 48: 234-10, runrate=4.88
Mohammed 8-1-43-3
Worsley* 24 (25 balls)

BHA FC v The Flying Scotsmen

An interesting game this afternoon and one I am expecting to lose. I posted 259/9 in our last game which he chased down for the loss of 3 wickets and with 2.5 overs left. However his other results haven't been so good and it's between us and another team to see who stays up automatically and who has to have a play off (the top 3 teams are miles better than us and the bottom 2 teams are bots).

A reasonable total and one which gives a bit of hope to the bowlers, so lets settle down for the afternoon and see what happens.

End of Over 50: 279-3, runrate=5.58
Sandile 10-1-45-3
Rowson* 21 (12 balls)
Chatterton 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Hulse c. Gilvarry b. Sandile 128 (FOW: 279/3)

Won by 9 wickets

2nd Chance Southend United

Lower Order: mediocre abysmal
Seam Bowling: miraculous masterful
Spin Bowling: elite useless
Fielding: proficient competent
MOTM: Lake

Lost a big toss, batted first on cracked under PC+H conditions and got skittled for 162. They are 40-2 in reply.

Lost a couple early, but maybe today is the day Polly comes back to form....

BATTY SHRIMPERS v The Flying Ferrets

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Cracked

End of Over 12: 46-2, runrate=3.83, reqrunrate=5.00 (235-8)
Woodward 1-0-5-1
Downing* 1 (2 balls)
Pollock 24 (25 balls)

Last Wicket: Nagendranath c. Baker b. Woodward 18 (FOW: 41/2)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB going well.

DIBS DIPPERS v Mighty White Rose

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.

Whibread 2-0-6-0
Potter* 39 (50 balls)
Stride 29 (34 balls)

Comprehensively beaten!

I played my stiffs as was away against EGV. I could have taken him as he's struggling on the fitness front but whats the point when their is no promotion to aim for?! Got a tough FC macth vs Hamptonians which i will need to try and a) get max bowl/batt points and b) win so thought i'd save everyone for that as all will be on sublime, fingers crossed. Should finish 4th in the OD format so happy with that if i can promote in FC and BT20!

Kev

Blimey, I won by 222 runs - expected a tougher game than that. As the stats show my middle order and spin bowling was better (even though my spinner didn't bowl), but his seamers were superior.

This completes a very good week for me, with 2 reasonabley surprising victories over close rivals and which could see me avoid relegation in both FC and OD. With promotion in BT to come (barring a real **** up), this could be a fantastic season!
