So Guido Fawkes and Australian News Channel ABC reckon that tonight it will drop that George Osborne did cocaine and slept with hookers when he was younger. Apparently this story has been around a while and he denied it, but it's even more interesting because it has an Andy Coulson/NOTW link to it.

Irrespective of Coulson, do you think it's a big deal what a MP did when younger? Poll attached.

I sooooooo hope its true. There are some things that I learned at Appleton comp that they don't teach you at Eton and the first is that if you want to pay money to stick things up your nose and in other people then don't become famous. An affair is one thing but I don't trust anyone who has to pay for sex.

If Osborne had stood on a platform of "back to basics" and morality, then he'd be a hyprocite and he would have to go.

He hasn't, so he shouldn't. Should make for amusing copy for a few days, though.

Amusing instead of insightful copy.

Some of the most important banking reforms in decades and our media are instead going to be ******* themselves furiously (and no doubt, hypocritically) over this story.

I don't disagree with you there at all. However, "Osborne in Drugs and Hookers Shame" makes for a more lurid headline than "Bank Reforms to take place in 2019"...
