Latest Rumours Palace are the first

At the time of Payne and Bentley leaving I felt that either one or both would end up back in League 1 within two seasons , if Dru leaves in January if can see the same thing happening.

Yes, good as he is, Dru is still very young and needs more games under his belt so let's hope he doesn't get his head turned and stays with us for a while yet (unlike Jack Payne). It's a big step up to a bigger club and even Lenny struggled until he got his move to the right club for him.

Dry will go at some point soon. A couple of million to a prem club is nothing.

We have some very very useful youths coming through. I hope that we learn to reward the best with long term pro deals to make the club plenty of money

Hopefully Dru will stay at least another year and develop further with our team. I had a quick conversation with his Mum at the Sunderland and she said he "just loves playing football" -I am hoping this means regular first team games and not sitting on the bench in the PL !

Exactly why i dont want him going to a PL club sitting on the bench will only ****** his progress , but it seems to me when it comes to young players with ability the German clubs seem to know how to nurture that ability more so than PL english clubs do.Just my personal thoughts.

This is the sad thing about modern football and the money involved.

Palace don't need Dru Yearwood. They just want to add him to their portfolio to potentially sell on at a later date, whilst sticking him in the academy squads for the time being.

Hodgson would be a good manager for him, but what you don't know is how long he'll remain manager for. Still better off sticking at Southend.

I really don’t think we would sell just yet and Dru would be mad to move on at this stage. He’s not developed enough yet to play regularly at a higher level. Even at Brentford he’d be on the bench.

But if we don’t get money from a cup run then flogging Yearwood might be our only option to generate some cash for players in January. So I guess we’ll just have to watch this space.

We don't need to sell him until a year or so. I can't see that Dru is the type of player that would "down tools" either. I think he just wants to play football and he seems to have a good relationship with Chris Powell.

Of course if £5m was on offer (plus add ons such as sell on fee, England caps etc) then it might be a different story.

Unless it’s an offer of £5m + they can **** right off!

Payne is a work in progress that may or may not achieve the potential Huddersfield saw in him. He may have already peaked. Bentley has already proven his credentials to play at a higher level and could still go higher yet. Leonard has struggled but may be getting to grips with higher level football and I really rated him.

Dru is, in my view, a class above. Some seem to think a PL move means he will be dumped in the stiffs and it would be a mistake. The thing with PL reserves is that the standout players, with the right application as much as the ability, can get opportunities in the first team. Moreso now I suggest. Younger stars are more to the force. Dru deserves the chance to get top class coaching and facilities and the sooner the better. He looks just the right kind of individual to benefit from it and to grab the opportunity to prove his true ability.

We, the fans and club, are desperate to keep him because he is so good. Very few, with his natural ability, come through at his age, at this level, and are consistent. The way he has bounced back after his injury is testament to his dedication. It would be criminal to hold him back just for our own benefit.

CP should know exactly what Dru needs. He himself stayed at our club too long as a player and it curtailed the career he had at the top level when he was clearly good enough. Yes CP did well but much of it came later than it could have been.

We’ve got him on a long term contract, they can all do one unless someone offers proper money I.e. upwards of £3m. Other young L1 players have attracted those sort of fees. For once we’re in a good bargaining position & don’t have to accept cut-price £500k offers. Tell the lad to give us two more years then he can go to the highest bidder.

It's easy to forget how old Dru really is because of the way He plays.
I rate him very highly and know He will move on to big things.
All I hope is His head is not turned by others and can continue to enjoy his football and learning for a little longer and when the time comes(as it will) His value will have increased and will challenge for position wherever He goes.

Much as it upset a lot of folk on here, Cattermole knocking lumps out of Dru the other week, whilst not welcome..will be a valuable learning lesson for him

.........and it proves that word of his talent has certainly spread......
