In the first five games of the season, we take just 5 points from a possible 15 and it's relegation form.

BUT THEN WE PLAY Col******r!!

It's 3-1 to the Superblues which leads into 8 wins on the bounce (including 8 goals in 3 days against Rotherham and Yeovil and a win against the former European champions). We're then there or there abouts all season.

But then comes a little wobble towards the end and we lose to MK Dons, we draw with Bournemouth and lose at home to the Gills and Doncaster and suddenly it's pressure, pressure, pressure!

It all comes down to the penultimate fixture at Swansea and a final home game against a resurgent Bristol City.

It's 2-2 against Swansea.
Freddy has brought Southend back into the game.
The visiting fans are jubilant.
Southend are 6 minutes from Promotion.

But then Trundle shoots.
It's down to Darryl's left.
Darryl gets to it.
He's been great this season.
BUT HE CAN'T KEEP THE SHOT OUT!!!
AND IT'S 3-2 TO SWANSEA!!!!

Then Brentford score.
BUT HARTLEPOOL CAN'T FIND AN EQUALISER!!!
