I always fancied her best mate, the one & only Edith Bowman (their travel show that was on BBC3 a few years back was quality) until she undertook the usual R1 female brainwashing and turned into a media whore (sorry to Keefmoon who I think is one of her mates) as well as procreating with the bloke out of Editors!

What would have been a half decent 'That Peter Kay Thing' episode 5 years ago, has somehow been green lit into a 2 hour Comic Relief night-esque sketch and outstayed its welcome by about an hour. Alas, it's source material is actually funnier...

Hence why no advance copies were sent out I guess...

The first half had flashes of the old Kay (Kaiser Chiefs duet, 2 up 2 down, the tragic back story of the performers etc) but the second half was just embarrassing.

Without Fitzmaurice on board, Kay's output has been 2 rereleased runs of his now 7 year old stand up show, a documentary about it, a terrible series of Max & Paddy and a **** weak Comic Relief song. I fear Phoenix Nights may well end up being the guys only lasting legacy...

PS. What is it with all the midgets at the moment??? Peter Kay, Mike Myers obsession with them, Absolute Radio, that Casino company? They'll be the only ones laughing through the credit crunch!

Thought at one point last night that the entire second half just felt like a mammoth attempt to get another one of his **** songs to Number 1 to me – why not end the first half with the good, last 2 minutes of the second half and call it quits missing out the 45 minutes of crap in between?

I couldn't sit through the last bit of the show, it was that unbearable. Miss Deeley was the only thing keeping it ticking over
