Question Play offs?

Where will we finish this season.

Until Oct they were struggling somewhat?. Must admit i haven't been taking any notice of their results, but guess they must have been/ are on a decent run at present?.
Yes but then they changed manager and their big signing Norwood started scoring fairly regularly!
Looking at the betting odds is interesting as we're 16/1 same as Shots for promotion I'd say that should be 16/1 just to make the play offs! If you're a betting man get on before we win the next games ...

Chesterfield are helping our play off chances, 1 up versus Alty tonight and Alty keeper injured in warm up.

Hopefully, Spireites finish them off, that will be the game in hand Alty have on us gone, we win the Wealdstone game and beat Alty at our place and we'll have made 6 points up on them.

Well that's the plan lol.

Alty were a tad unlucky tonight. They played well, playing some super football and Chesterfield scored twice from pretty much their only two shots at goal all night.
Mooney was subbed after 70 minutes, and played on the right of a front 3.

I only watched second half, in that 20 mins Mooney barely got in the opposition half or touched the ball.

It's going to be tricky but if you look at where we should be without the points deduction with a limited squad, then you would hope that form would be better with an improved squad.

Wether that is enough is anyone's guess.

I'm quite excited to see Cardwell and Waldron up top. I think they could prove formidable. I hope Waldron becomes another Eastwood type player. Hungry to make his mark having seemingly missed his chance at pro football.

It won't be easy to get promoted, particularly if you finish outside the top 3 but Grimsby did it the hard way and so can we.

3 points against Wealdstone and the double over chesterfield would give the squad a massive confidence boost.

Aldershot and Gateshead both lost today.

On the (probably fair) assumption that we won't catch Chesterfield, Barnet or Bromley that is an open invitation to put a run together. There is not a single team between us and 4th that is consistent enough to stop us reaching 7th.
This is the way

If we don't go up this season, looking at the 2 teams coming down we will be one of the big two in this division with Oldham.

Next season could be a cracker
Yeovil and Scunny will return!

Hyde and Murphy have 14 NLS goals between them.

I don't fear anyone in this division except Chesterfield and we've already beaten them!

I reckon 76 points should just get a playoff place , so thats 42 points from a possible 57 required.

win 8 at home and draw 2 thats 26 points , leaving 16 points from 9 games away - incl Chesterfield and tonight . 5 wins and a draw . looks too much to me

I cant see more than 23/24 points at home and 12/13 away - another 37 points putting us on 71 , i reckon we may miss out by a couple of points.

That said defy form and beat Wealdstone tonight and get a draw at Chesterfield and things look up as we move into a less tricky February (although there is quite a lot of games to go , 17 in 11 weeks so injuries and suspensions could be pivotal)

Am I supposed to be impressed?

Cardwell and Powell have 14 between them in the division above and Powell has been injured for the last 4 months.

Next year Murphy and Hyde will be a year further from away their prime, slower and playing a level above.

Scunny could be a much bigger problem (although they have (had?) problems of their own).
