So when we get promoted! Surely our first move is to sign Pearce lol
I agree. Heart breaking for any team to get 96 points and not get promoted. Rules really do need changing.Have to feel sorry for York given the season they have had but those are the rules. Two teams should go up automatically with a third via the play offs
Desperate stuff from York. They are truly rattled. As said above, I hope FGR are the same tomorrow.
A real shame for York, but that’s the play off lottery. Absolute nailed on favourites next season surely?
It’s an unfair system that’s for sure, but we can’t deny Oldham their place in the final, higher sourses must have a look sooner or later. It's cruel given how many points ahead they were.
And yet he still goes down injured.Oldham goalkeeper hasn't had to make a save all evening!
Three in the Prem, three in the Championship, and four in Lgs 1 and 2 get relegated, but a measly two get promoted from the NL, and only one automatically. Why?I agree. Heart breaking for any team to get 96 points and not get promoted. Rules really do need changing.
'injured'? Bringing off the keeper like an outfielder when 'injured' can't come soon enough. And yet he still goes down injured.
And the NL are, imho, stupidly only campaigning to get 1 extra promotion place. The precedent is there for 4 promotion places, plus also gives you something to compromise on, ie, 3 upThree in the Prem, three in the Championship, and four in Lgs 1 and 2 get relegated, but a measly two get promoted from the NL, and only one automatically. Why?
Reckon that might be an instant cure of the problem.'injured'? Bringing off the keeper like an outfielder when 'injured' can't come soon enough.
I'm sure you are right. Will be hard on the York team to go again next season, I would imagine they will need some new players to keep the enthusiasm. As has been said should be 3 if not 4 up given the current comparison between NL and L2. If that failure leads to York finishing second on the points they and have not getting a ‘deserved’ promotion then this should embarrass the EFL- but it won’t.
Yes more EFL clubs wil get relegated but it will also be easier to get back. A lot of the dysfunction comes from the EFL money. If the NL was L3 and the money differential closed I suspect the opposition go change would be less.
Or add double the amount of injury time back on.Reckon that might be an instant cure of the problem.

The worry is FGR will see this result and up their game not wanting to repeat Yorkshire performance.
Also as often happens with teams in any of the leagues that don't go up is they lose players to higher leaguesI'm sure you are right. Will be hard on the York team to go again next season, I would imagine they will need some new players to keep the enthusiasm.
