The lad went too far, but was quite young and probably didn't realise what he's done. They took him to one side, told him he was out of order, then let him go back to his seat rather than kicking him out. I'd say that's excellent stewarding.
Was he really acting in a way much different to the others around him? (Genuine question, I didn't notice) Plus, having four stewards come and take the boy down from the seats is a bit silly, he was hardly gonna kick off.

Anyway, as you said, at least he didn't get thrown out.

If that's what he did and they did then I agree, good stewarding or coppering, is about pointing out minor errors and letting things go if the lesson is learnt. If not........

From the Plymouth Fans fora - views ranged from 'we were a typical Phil Brown cynical, cheating, diving, in the ref's ear, adept in the dark arts side' to the 'best team they've seen who are certain to get promoted'. Also, our goal was apparently offside. Let's see tonight.

Have just read some of their comments on there. Interesting that they call us a dirty, cheating, diving side. No we didn't play as well as we can and our passing wasn't as fluent as it was say against Millwall last week, but they were throwing themselves on the floor all over the place and in the end I lost count of how many free kicks they won just outside the box. However as soon as the ref blew the whistle to give them the free kick, they miraculously got up immediately!!!

I think Brown persists with Straker because of the versatility and pace he offers and even if he is poor with the ball his work rate means he can give support at both ends, the lad is fit and never seems to flag and at this level those qualities are a bonus. He is b####y frustrating though.

Totally agree with this - Straker offers something different - but is the target of boo boys - the first missplaced pass they were on his case - but not a murmer when Coker misplaced a whole raft of passes (not to mention Timlin, and why oh why does Prosser try to make Beckhamesque long passes - keep it simple Luke!)

My scores:-

Bentley 7 - nothing he could have done about the goal
Leonard 7 - wasted at fullback but I understand why Brown played him there
Prosser 7 - see above
Phillips 6 -still worries me at times
Coker 6 - not at his best
Clifford 6 - industrious
Hurst 7.5 - my MOM but going down a few blind alleys
Straker 6.5 - see above
Corr 6.5 - looked more comfortable when Woody came on
Timlin 6 - see above
Atkinson 7 - my pick of midfield

Woody 6 - took some pressure off BBBC
Freddy 6 - some class touches
Laird 6 - solid

Ref - 3 - Pillock

Blues fans - good again

Fortescue Arms - 8 - great stuff

Penzance Blues - 8 - great turnout

Seen the highlights, we were worth of a point just for the quality of that equaliser! Brilliant, defense splitting, ball from Woodrow and so well taken, under extreme pressure, by Hurst. Reminded me a bit of our second against Millwall last week.

A decent point, result about right overall.Plymouth have improved and may push for a playoff place.Keeps our run going and we are looking hard to beat.Big game next week.Think Chesterfield will come and attack so should be a good game for the spectators

Just seen the highlights, Bentley made a couple of brilliant saves again to keep us in the game much like against Portsmouth.

Good poachers goal from Hurst and the ball through was decent.

Think the team were a bit slow to react to their goal, unlucky deflection though!

I said pre match I'd happily take a point. We weren't at our best, disappointing after last week but if we can still dig in and grind a point out without playing well, we won't go far wrong.

We were pretty wasteful in midfield. Timlin and Clifford didn't seem to click, both won tackles but a lot of it was chasing their own missed placed passes.

Bentley made a couple of great saves, particularly one in the first half, which looked a certain goal. No chance with their goal which took an evil deflection.

Lenny played well at RB but we missed him massively in midfield. In hindsight, Laird would have been a better starting option that Clifford at CM.

Woodrow played well when he came on and put a great ball through for the goal.

Bentley 7
Leonard 7
Prosser 6
Phillips 6
Coker 5
Hurst 7
Timlin 5
Clifford 5
Atkinson 6
Straker 5
Corr 5

Woodrow 6
Eastwood 5
Laird 5

so I wondered why Thompson didn't start at right back and that would have been better to have Lenny in the midfield, just don't understand this as we had Prosser playing at Left back before when needed

My guess is that he played Lenny there to counteract the pace of Banton, who is reputedly to be very fast. It did work cos Banton never had a look-in and was subbed. But agree the point we missed Lenny's passing and foraging in the middle.

With regard Luke McCormick, your lot have probably given him the worst out of any team this season, both home and away, but I understand that's a minority of idiots, and the majority behave decently.

Booing and jeering is fine, but making up songs about the deaths of 2 children and dancing around to them is disrespectful to the family more than anyone.

Luke is a great guy I can assure you, and a superb goalkeeper, he donates 50% of his wages to childrens charities, and has set up an anti drink driving campaign. Can never excuse what he did, but he is a really good guy and he's loved by all here.

All the best.

We were pretty poor. Loads of loose passes and a lack of intensity. I'm not sure why this 4-5-1 is persisted with, followed by the switch to 4-4-2. I can't help thinking starting with Corr and Freddy up front would have better results. Fred always looks like he takes a bit of time to warm up. I don't think the stewards were justified in picking on that 15yo. Most people were shouting. I asked some Plymouth fans afterwards and they said we were second harshest on the keeper after Pompey, but no one got kicked out then coz 1000+ were hurling abuse. Great to see Sturrock in Wetherspoons before the match. Very clearly drinking with Shrimpers and not Janners

Bentley 7.5 - MOM - couldn't have done more and was ahead of the game when they broke forward
Leonard 7.5 - excellent - v assures, best passer and great tackling
Prosser 7 - assured with the usual lapses in distribution
Phillips 7- impressed with his sharpness
Coker 5 - lots of poor distribution
Hurst 7 -sharp and creative
Timlin 6.5 -worked hard with little end. Unlucky for the goal.
Clifford 5.5 - didn't do a lot
Atkinson 7 - great passing and work rate
Straker 5 - Great for 10 mins after half time. Rubbish for the rest - so pedestrian! Looked disinterested in the first half
Corr 6 - had a go but doesn't look like scoring and not creating much either.

Woodrow 6.5 great assist and did well
Eastwood 6 - some good touchs
Laird 6 -fine

Just got back from a great weekend in Plymouth and Newton Abbot.
Intresting talking to many Pilgrims all seem to think we will go up automatically, and they may get into playoff's
but will struggle to this season.
MOM for me was Barry Corr, closely followed by Leonard who kept Banton under control but how did there Number 7 miss that chance right at the end.
Overall a good point against a side who will climb the table before the season is finshed.
