Anyone got any ideas for pubs once we got off the ferry? Iv been told the kings head sports bar is decent to watch the early game

Yeah, that's probably your best bet if you just want a couple of pints and watch the early game on the telly. Or if you wanted some better food with ales along with the TV option, I would head further along the Milton road and go to TJ's (next to the Clock Tower, it's nice, & has a small beer garden outside & its still only around an 8 minute walk from the train station). Or if it was all about the grub & some decent ales, try the Three Daws right next to the pier.
