Andu,

How dare you insult me, my wife & other committee members like that. I expect that insult to be retracted forthwith.

You have no idea at all what went on & what has happened since.

So the fact that we were standing by the coach door posing could of been for a picture that was being taken.
We also whilst sitting on our lardy arses managed to give out Shrimpers Trust Goodies to the kids who passed, whilst also taking it in turns to walk up to the stage to find out where the Players were. This we did on numerous occasions and as stated in the Trust Statement the first we saw of them was around 6.15. This will also be coroborated by the SBC Coach owner and several very frustrated supporters.

We are not being childish we are dealing in fact. Everything in the Trust statement is factually correct, and in fact it is the poster on behalf of the club who has been very childish & misinformed, but hey who cares about that then.

Once again I expect a full retraction of your statement on this board & a letter of apology to my wife who took an afternoons holiday to help out !!!!!!!!

Actually I do apologies, having re-read my post the language was out of order, and you are correct I do not know what happened behind the scenes on the day. I do actually have the utmost respect for trust members who give up their own time.
However, while the trust statement may have been factually correct, to me it came over as arrogant and a typical 'its all the clubs fault', that I feel is often the way the trust come across. Perhaps with emotions running high today wasn't a good day to start posting messages

while on the subject of emotions - D62SUBOY - I don't appreciate being threatened by PM, as I was in the wrong this time round I have deleted it, next time I will forward it to a mod.

It seems to me that the original post by the club was ill-advised too. Criticising the trust in public will inevitably result in a slanging match. Shrimperzone is clearly not the place to hold that sort of debate.

Also, surely if someone is a trust member then they are going to have to be extremely diplomatic when they comment on the running of the club. To say "that was my private opinion" doesn't wash. To accept the privelege of representing Trust Members surely also comes with the responsibility to abstain from controversial comments in public.

Excuse me!!!!! Threatened in PM?

I believe the exact words I used were "private individual, got a problem with that?"

Where in that do you see a threat?

So the Trust's statement is factually correct and it reads as a "it's all the clubs fault". As the Trust's statement contradicts what SOUTHENDUNITEDFC stated it is obvious that the later is misinformed so I expect a retraction from there as well.

Terry, it was a reference to the original now-locked thread about Rayleigh and the lights, and a debate on there. I see Phil has now made a comment on it, which I am sure closes that debate now.

If the Trust statement was factual, as is claimed, then it has a duty to it's members to defend it's self against any of the errors in SOUTHENDUNITEDFC's post.

Would it's members rather stay misinformed ?

Andy,

Apology accepted re the insults.

This is what happens when ill informed posters including SOUTHEND UNITED FC try to play oneupmanship when there is no need for it.

Members of the Trust board were actually talking to a Member of the sufc marketing team around the time they made their post, and had also started a dialogue with Ron Martin yesterday. What does that tell you ? - maybe that there is a loose cannon in the club somewhere, as surely if we were discussing this already there was no need for the club to post at this time !!!!

I don't mean this whole debate about the statements - just that teeny bit about Commitee Members and public statments.

Blimey, it's World War Three in here tonight!

Hilarious, I don't think. Banter's one thing. Gloating about a fall-out between fans is another. Not acceptable

I am suprised that with the budget as tight as it is at Roots Hall that there is a member of staff available at 12.56 on matchday to post on SZ.

I am sure RM would love to know what is the most important thing in their lives 2 hours before kick off on matchday.

Any trust member posting on here posting on here tonight have been posting in a private capacity apart from the Shrimpers Trust post which posted the facts. The Southend United FC poster upped the ante with a distorted view of events. I'll leave it there.

I think you'll all be glad to know I now have a self imposed gagging order imposed to prevent me from making any more inappropriate comments.

Violation of said self imposed order will result in copious amounts of naked self flagellation whilst bound by the feet to the gates of Roots Hall.:)

I sincerely hope all parties concerned feel this is both adequate and appropriate
