Leeds Utd are being blessed with a Select Group referee for nearly all their matches for some reason. This one is no exception with Tuesday's referee being Keith Stroud from Gillingham in Dorset (not sure why they list him as Hampshire). In his fourth season as a League referee he has risen through the ranks and done 5 Premiership games so far this season (incl the Spurs 6 Reading 4 match). He has done Southend 5 times before (2 w 2 l 1 d) the most notable being the vital end of season victory against Bristol City.
A somewhat short official who doesn't hesitate to produce cards if necessary but is right more often than wrong.

His listed assistants are Mike Bull (different Bull from Friday's Bull) from Chelmsford and Simon Beck from ...... Shoebury (don't tell Dennis!).

Fingers crossed we dont notice the officials then. Always a good sign on their performance.

Good info again Mick...well played.

THe "no show" from Stroud last night was due to the last minute shuffling of a number of referees. Stroud was sent up to Preston vs WBA (where by all accounts he had a shocker - presumably not best pleased at having to travel the length of the country unexpectedly, he took it out on the Preston players).

Thought he was very good last night.

He's done us quite a bit hasn't he, I recognise the name.

BTW Mick I always love the info on the refs, keep it going.

Not that much (6 times over 5 years now). Last game was about a year ago (0-1 at home to Palace). He's usually okay.
