Not sure if the news has already been posted on here already but I learned today of the passing of longtime Shrimper Alan Liles, who I am sure many on here will know.

Alan loved Southend and was 100% committed to the club having been a season ticket holder for many years and barely missing an away match during that time either.

The club has lost yet another top supporter sadly and may Alan rest in peace now.

Didn't know him but thoughts are with his family. Hopefully he will be chatting with other lost fans and players in the other world of how th game was better in their time.

Sadly not mate. Older man in early 70's and sat in the West Stand. Barely ever missed a match home and away. Lived in Pitsea. Always on the away coaches.

Alan's funeral is to be held at Pitsea Crematorium on Monday 23rd May at 9.00 am.

Southend Colours to be worn at his request.

Early 70's is no age these days, sad news indeed. RIP to Alan and condolences to the family.
