Visual effects master, creator of "stop motion" animation, died today at the ripe old age of 92.

Clash of the Titans, Jason and the Argonauts, the 7th Voyage of Sinbad and a host of other great films which succeeded due to his amazing talents. Hugely influential on the careers of Tim Burton, John Landis, Stephen Spielberg, Nick Park, James Cameron, Peter Jackson and many others.

Jason and the Argonauts is one of my all time favourite films - my favourite bits are the scenes where Talos the giant (iron?) statue comes to life and the epic fight with the skeleton army.
