I watched us draw with Rochdale in 1981 to secure our first ever 'real' trophy - the 4th division championship. I will be 'working from home' on Thursday watching us beat the same team at the beginning of our quest to return to the fourth tier. Let's smash these two bob mugs.
That was only the 4th draw we'd had at home all season, and no home defeats either.I remember that game well, Tony Haley's header from the edge of the penalty box into the North Bank net, to bring us back level and get that point.
That was the first year I started going to RH - I didn't see them lose for over a year. Came as a horrible shock to 9-year old TOTC.That was only the 4th draw we'd had at home all season, and no home defeats either.
Think that was the last time we were undefeated at home throughout a season?.
I started going in 1967, and that 80-81 season is the only one since then that we went undefeated at home!.That was the first year I started going to RH - I didn't see them lose for over a year. Came as a horrible shock to 9-year old TOTC.
If I remember correctly we lost at home in the FA cup to Hereford that season. We were top and hadn’t lost at home (which was to continue in the league) and Hereford were bottom and hadn’t won away! That was the first year I started going to RH - I didn't see them lose for over a year. Haha tbh ive got a really bad feeling about it and am dreading it !God, I'm bored with waiting!
Yes, Rochdale are a good side and unfortunately were in fine form before resting 7 players against Braintree. They must be favourites so we should prepare ourselves for disappointment - the default position for Shrimpers fans. However, we are hard to score against and I don't think that Rochdale are going to find it easy.Haha tbh ive got a really bad feeling about it and am dreading it !
I know league results are not included for this game, but this season we have played Rochdale twice and won 1 and drawn 1.Yes, Rochdale are a good side and unfortunately were in fine form before resting 7 players against Braintree. Rochdale first team might get caught cold, as they haven’t played any competitive games for over two weeks.Yes, Rochdale are a good side and unfortunately were in fine form before resting 7 players against Braintree.
