Roman Numerals

Worried this thread might sound a bit like a Ricey special, but here goes.

For our first year anniversary, the Missus and I have been thinking about getting the inside of our wedding rings engraved. I thought that our date, (20/3/2010) would turn nicely into roman numerals (XX-III-MMX). However I doubt this is the proper way to write a date in latin.

Any thoughts on this, or something else to put on the ring (initials, names etc). Bare in mind the missus has a small ring (snigger)

Engraving the date doesn't sound so much romantic as that you're afraid of forgetting your wedding anniversary.
