Roots Hall Planning Application

What is different here is that they are to use emergency powers to push it through if there is agreement. They are clearly keen to move quickly. And yes it indicates that their expectation is Fossetts will move ahead also otherwise whats the point.

Why the sudden urgency? Well something is scheduled for April 11? And with a green light I suspect a few £m of liquidity will be coming Ron's way as he will have something tangible to leverage. Unlike the the council to show such a sense of urgency so maybe the April 11 is doing Ron a big favour?

Or maybe they realise that the economy is going to be screwed both nationally and locally and money coming into the council and jobs being created will be useful

Forgive me if I’ve missed it but where did 11th April come from?

We could probably do with combining this with the thread on the finances chat- or preferably that with this as something so important should be on the main thread arguably..

Isn't there also the issue of those tower blocks by Queensway being demolished in the not too distant future? Getting this through and some of that housing built will enable residents to be rehoused.

It has to be of consequence that the council have selected just this planning decision to take forward under emergency powers for a decision in the coming days. If approved it will surely be of huge consequence to the Club, Ron and our ability to raise finance. This might be "hidden away" in the finances section with just a few comments but in reality is probably one of the most important moments in the clubs history?

Yes, the optimistic view is that the Council realise that the club is teetering on the brink and if they don't act now and the club goes under then Ron will be free to negotiate housing deals with anyone. So this could indeed be a vital moment. Fingers crossed....
