Should they pay?

Had a fiver EW on Button for the Aussie GP with Bet Fred. He finished 4th on the track but was promoted to 3rd after Riciardo was disqualified. Not a biggy but at 25/1 its worth having.
Not sure if they will pay out the podium or the result after the dq.

Depends when the DQ happened.

Bookmakers will generally pay out on the podium finish - i.e. the three drivers standing up there spraying champagne around. Any subsequent amendments to the finishing positions are disregarded for betting purposes.

A little harsh perhaps, but there does need to be a line drawn at some point.

Yep, I checked with them and although the result has gone against me I suppose its a fair way to do it. If they had paid on Riciardo, then changed to Button, I expect it would be a lot harder to get the payout money back from the Riciardo punters than not pay the button ones.

Seems a bit harsh on you though,your stake back would have been a small gesture
