You don't want to be too loose or you might lose your marbles!

Should have better angle to see if it was handball when either southend or Wrexham post the highlights of the today match on YouTube Monday.Sorry, but The assertion that it was a clear habdball is hugely debatable.
How refreshing to read something rationalCome on!! Since the beginning of time the Ref's have always made mistakes. Over the years it has always balanc3d out. To read the comments on here we would be top of League 1 without biased Ref's. They are not the reason we are where we are, bemoaning our shameful position in the National League!!
Do I give a flying ****?Would it have picked up on your grammar? I loose it every time I see this written.
Good question. He joined both Brighton and Sheff I think when they were Prem. So suspect more than we would pay. Certainly it’s difficult to believe that if he signed a new contract as Sheff wanted he wouldn’t have been on more than Dalby let alone what he is getting here. Anyway irrespective good luck to him - just hope he gets game time.I guess Dalby is a couple of years ahead of Lopata, having dropped into non league a couple of years ago, so the move for money now may make perfect sense. Lopata may be making a short term pain for long term gain financial decision. How do our wages compare with sheff u u21 wages anyway?
Yep. I was of course being sarcastic in my post. The linesman waved his flag so violently when he felt the ball was a cm too far forward I thought he was going to have a heart attack. Shame he didn’t have such good vision for the handball right in front of him. But really the officiating throughout could be a reason for some to not back to watch VL footballYes apart from our winning goal they got everything right.
Colin stole 3cm twice in a row, lets hope FIFA clamp down on that in the next WC. Much rather he wastes 1minute every kick like the Torquay keeper.
Mooney was booked for not wasting enough time at a point where the last thing needed was a yellow because both teams where getting on with a proper game of footy. Don't mention the only real foul on Mooney on the edge of our box... If you do you might forget about a clear handball down the other end in the same move.
Who in the ground didn't see Dackers having his shirt pulled just before half time.....Only 3 people it seems. My mother with dementia would know thats a foul, even though she would forget about it 10 seconds later.
Then we made history. The first ground in the NL to have VAR...Without the benefit of VAR. The clue is in the body language. Wrexham don't appeal as he scores and most of them head towards the lino with no conviction because they know its a goal.
I don't moan to much about officials but they clearly didn't see it so cant give it.....Its the golden rule of reffing
He can **** off. BellWREXHAM boss Phil Parkinson would have been disappointed if Jake Hyde’s goal had been allowed to stand.

Wrexham respected the silence perfectly. They were never going to respect the National anthem and who can blame them off the back of 100s of years of oppression by the English (who are of course famous for respecting national anthems). They were drowned out so let's call it honours even there.I havent been back since my dad passed away and i dont live in southend anymore so it was quite an emotional one for me.
I loved being back tho and have really missed it.
Wrexham fans tried to ruin the national anthem was pretty scummy imo. I cannot imagine a scenario where i would visit another country and spoil their national anthem. What hapened to respect
Overall in terms of effort and endeavour they all get a 10 from me, and thats what got us the result, we made wrexham look bang average. The players all gave 100%. Refreshing after recent years so credit to them and the management trio.
The officiating was pub level. The ref gave the goal, if the lino disagreed it should have been instant, they were clearly swayed by wrexhams players which just shouldnt happen. As someone else eloquently put it, it was like VAR without cameras....
Mooney certainly is a handful, the creative spark in the side, and i liked the way maher and co switched him to the other flank midway through the first half to mix it up.
I liked seeing 2 up top,not sure what the formation was supposed to be, at times it seemed a 5 3 2. But having 2 out and out strikers felt right to me.
Hobson who ive been critical of in the past, was superb today, composed and assured with a good range of passing.
Lopata is clearly a cut above, and we look very solid with him playing. When you watch him, his positioning and awareness of whats going on around him keep him a step ahead of the game.
Colins kicking needs work but did the simple things well despite the lino being a pedantic *******.
I think hyde could be good for us once he develops some understanding with the rest of the squad
Dakkers won most of his headers and worked hard, he gave us a target to aim for.
Husin clearly has quality about him, he was a bit ropey to start imo, not everything panned out for him today but he seems to me the type of player who could be that kev maher type player, some composure and some bite and the nous to provide good dnistribution.
Ralph, im not as glowing as some of the others on here, but he does have some quality.
As others have said, if we can start scoring and winning i really think that mentality could spread through the team and being so solid at the back we could maybe approach a team in contention for the playoffs.
I wrote this post late last night (Perth time) after referring to the National League table on the BBC website.I suspect losing Husin and Taylor through injury early in the season thus reducing our midfield options may have hurt us more than some realise.
After nine games we have played three of the top five and none of the bottom four. There are thirty seven games to go so we have ample opportunity to improve our results.
Much as I would loved a win today I remain optimistic.
English teacher alert!Would it have picked up on your grammar? I loose it every time I see this written.
Always said this.. ‘we was robbed’ is ingrained in many a Southend supporter from birth. How refreshing to read something rational
Largely agree, although you missed our draw at bottom four side Halifax and replaced them with York City who we have yet to play.I wrote this post late last night (Perth time) after referring to the National League table on the BBC website.
Looking at the same site this morning I now see that we have actually played four of the top five. Perhaps I should not post after midnight!
It is worthwhile looking at the individual results:
vs Boreham Wood (h) lost 0-1. First game of the season after making a number of new signings in the close season.
vs Solihull Moors (a) 1-1. Came back after conceding in the 12th minute. A solid performance.
vs Chesterfield (a) 2-3. Although many saw this as a disaster the fact remains we could have won, should have drawn and were perhaps unlucky to lose. And that was playing away to a team regarded as being one of the best in the competition, and, who today lead the league.
vs Wrexham (h) 0-0. Nothing to say as the game is fresh in all our memories.
Two of the other teams we have played so far sit in the top half of the Division (York 8th and Eastleigh 12th). Our other opponents have been Oldham (14th), Maidenhead (16th) and Torquay (20th).
Because of the background and age profile of the players I remain convinced that there is a lot of improvement in them and we will not see the team at its best until after Christmas.
We will be in contention by the end of the season.
