Official Match Thread Southend United v Burton Albion

This is a huge 45 minutes , early KO will mean us putting serious pressure on those around us should we hold on for 3 points

I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet. We desperately need a second goal.

And I suppose a third would be out of the question

Think the first 15 minutes of the second half are key. We need to keep the pressure towards their goal and not sit back, letting them come onto us.

Also, is Hutchinson injured? Not played for under 23s and not on the bench either. Only striker on the bench is Kelman and other attacking options are McLaughlin and Kightly.

I wouldn't class Kightly as an attacking option

In honesty Burton have had the majority of possession and have looked rather more skilful. Yet, up to now we have shown we want it more. We desperately need a second to calm the nerves (especially mine) Don't know whether my old heart will take a second-half of hanging on to a slim lead. Plus the fact we haven't proved very succesful, of late, in managing to do that. There is still life...............and still hope!

Exactly this. They are the better side we have shown so much commitment to the cause.

Bunn has looked completely knackered all game and should have done better when put through on goal.
