After last Saturday’s postponement, we will hopefully return to action at Roots Hall this Saturday, not in the league but in the FA Trophy. The visitors will be Hampton & Richmond a team, to the best of my knowledge, that we’ve never met competitively before.

Despite never having played them, and maybe us feeling they can be swept aside we should be careful not to underestimate them as they’re going rather well in National League South this season, sitting in 2nd place behind Yeovil who of course knocked us out of the FA Cup.

Their current form in the league is outstanding so they should come to Roots Hall full of confidence that they can turn over one of the bigger teams in non-league.

The Beavers did however need a late penalty to draw at home to Braintree on Tuesday evening.

With the takeover edging ever closer, according to Tuesday’s statement from the consortium, I’ll leave a few gaps in the poll just in case they get it over the line and the embargo lifted before the game. However that is more in hope than expectation and I would like expect Kev to be picking from the same squad as the previous game, with the added conundrum of Collin the keeper getting through 90 minutes in the Essex Senior Cup defeat against Redbridge. Whether we have to recall him or whether we’re allowed a ‘keeper on the bench remains to be seen.

So who would you choose to start in our remaining cup competition this season and what do you predict the result will be?

I hope we take this competition seriously and have a go at winning it. We’ve had two weeks off and fingers crossed will have reinforcements available by the next round.

Although not the most reliable, BBC weather are predicting very heavy rain throughout Sat morning, stopping around lunchtime.
Worth putting the sheets on the pitch tomorrow night?.

I'm sure they will come to us full of confidence with their current form, why wouldn't they?.
And with a much smaller crowd than usual, doubt they'd be nervous about playing in front of a much more muted atmosphere than we usually produce?.
But hey-ho may the best team win, which hopefully will be us.

I suppose if Colin is fit he has to play, how are the injuries to Coker, Fonguck and Demi progressing. otherwise no changes to the side from the last match.

Hi all, yes a Hampton fan here! Looking forward to our trip to you. Hoping pitch is playable as forecast for tomorrow morning looks dire! Reckon we can spring a shock tomorrow with the form we’re in!
Welcome! Allow me to be the first to ask - what's your 'real' club? :Takethat::Smile2:

Some form your boys are in. We're not too shabby ourselves though, but we have had a week off and that can often do more harm than good...

Well my dad is originally a Manc so by family in a Blue but can’t go regularly so my main team is Hampton. I go home and away following us.

Good news for you is that on Tuesday we were awful. Missing our tall striker who we play long balls to so we just lumped ball up the a 5’8 striker which didn’t work. If he is fit you should watch out for him as he is finding his form.

Beginning to struggle with injuries so hoping we start best possible. Should be a good game. Not to fussed about the result if im being honest, dont expect anything, looking forward to the day! (if its on 🤣)
