Even though it is mid-september it's still just the first game of the season. The year we won L1 we got whupped at home by Port Vale first game. Outclassed. By end of September we were flying. Judge after 10 games. Win 5/10 its play off form, 6/10 you might be going up.

I remember that game well. Port Vale had a 21 year old centre forward who was absolutely brilliant. Tilly remembered how good he was and signed him a year later. He only started 5 league games for us though - Billy Paynter was his name.

Match day, iFollow pass booked(with code), longer hdmi dug out so laptop not so close to tv, favourite armchair booked, Mrs RHB has promised to only talk football whilst we're watching the game unlike the hamsters game when she banged on about the next days shopping, and all in all this is a bloody weird way to start the season. But it is a chance to watch our first league game and that in its self will do for me at the moment.

Happy watching/listening today chums and let's hope we see a good game. COYB:LoyalSupporter:

Here it goes the start of a new season with a new manager. I have every faith in Molesley, I’m not expecting miracles and will take a 22nd place finish right now, anything high is a bonus. It’s going to be a long and hard season but let’s hope we see some potential and some joy from what was a god awful season last one.

Let’s not get on the backs (little bit different when you’re not allowed in the ground)of the players and management if we don’t get a good result. This season is all about consolidation and next season will be our title winning season!

No offence to Harrogate but I hope we smash this tin pot lot and get 3 points in the bag and 3 points closer to safety!

UTB!!!

Time for some early season optimism, our attack is going to tear Harrogate apart with pace and movement and Goodship will get a hat trick. I'm going with a 4-0 win with us being 3-0 up by half time and their defence being shell shocked.

It's important to get points on the board early. I know we have injuries at the moment but it's going to be a hard on these younger players. I can't see all of them being able to play a full season in this league without needing a rest here and having a calf strain there...

Bettys is back open now, just remember town centre branch is home colours only on a matchday, away fans get Harlow Carr Gardens branch!
You're kidding!
Imagine a dust-up across the table cloths with rock cakes being hurled in abandon!
Police escorting fans back to the station with napkins still attached to their shirts.
I can see the headline now: The Battle of Betty's...

Too many sensible posts on here about todays game and how our season will progress.
Come on people , you know how it works on SZ.
If we win , the league will be secured by Easter.
If we lose , it’s non league oblivion.
Not sure on the draw reaction , but let’s get back to what we do best - overreact.
Enjoy the day.

I think a draw means we are having a long FA Cup run....

do you think it will be possible to stand on the hill in the corner of east and south stand and watch the game?

Let's hope you're right because there is no-one on the bench who is likely to help should we be chasing the game.

Once again we're playing a game with the rug already pulled from under us.
