The day before our friendly with Fulham, and it reminds me of a similar friendly some 44 years ago, when we played them in a Testimonial for Peter Watson in April 1964.

The most memoriable thing about this game was the score a 6-5 win, not often you see eleven goals in a match. and as a twelve year old I thought Friendlies were the best thing since sliced bread and couldn't wait for the next one.

Also the gate was nearly 7,000 I don't think as many people will see as many goals tomorrow do you?

my first season 78/9 ended with a friendly against fulham and we lost 0-1, not sure of the crowd or anything else about the game.

sorry that's my dads SUFCEssex first season he hadn't logged me out when he posted.

yeah sorry. i remember we played them mid season in a friendly during the great season that was 84/5. can't remember the score or anything about that game either.

For the record:

27 Apr 1964 Fulham H Testimonial for Peter Watson 5-6 att: 6,949
scorers: Barry Ashworth (2) Bobby Gilfillan, Peter Watson (pen) Benny Friel

(Shock Horror for the last 44 years I thought we had won 6-5 and now find we lost 5-6, gutted!)

11 May 1979 Fulham H 0-1

23 Jan 1985 Fulham H 1-1

I don't know the attendances or scorer for the last two
