I’d suggest he hasn’t been “hoodwinked” looking at Stan’s latest post and by the TL statement. I get the feeling tomorrow could be a very good day.

The whole Stan scenario has nothing to do with Ron. Stan has confirmed that himself. It’s discussions between TL & Stan. Ron isn’t involved. If a deal doesn’t come to fruition, this won’t be RM’s doing, but I know that doesn’t fit with the narrative.

TBF Murphy is a very decent striker at these level and we were never going to be paying fees, Dalby is a very promising youngster who is already plenty good enough and Dunne when playing to his strengths as a defensive MF has shown he is decent.

The problem biggest problem is I don't think we knew the formation we wanted to play, so didn't recruit to that, and ended up with too many similar players, and glaring holes in recruitment in certain position.

All the current team have done is quickly got two very good loanees in for two of those positions and its made a huge difference. Which of course makes it all the more frustrating that we didn't address it in the summer. We were always a CB short, and we were always a creative MF short if we wanted to play 352. I can only assume PB wanted to play 442 and Coulson and realised the two were incompatible...which seems absurd but its trying to explain it.

Its not so much the quality of certain players, it how they come together in a team to win games, create opportunities, bring threat.

Brown's last tenure will have many sore memories, but the "we are looking for a left sided centre back" will haunt me.

Had MONTHS to address it. But kept bringing in strikers?! Really awful that he didnt address it.

I think all parties concerned want to make sure everything is fully agreed before going public. Stan's "soon" last night is as clear an indication as you're going to get that everything is progressing very well.
