If we line-up on Saturday as

Evans
Clohessy Coughlan Bilel Barker

Corr Sturrock

then Anthony Grant will have picked up as many bookings last season as the other 10 combined.

Not one Sturrock signing was booked more than 5 times last season, and those that were received their 5th booking after the booking amnesty which I think is reflected in some of his earlier comments about the need for discipline*.


*Although special mention must go to the misunderstood Barry Corr, who produced the wonderful stat of as many red cards (3) as bookings. Coughlan, Gilbert and Prosser also were sent off once each.

I think the greater point surrounding discipline has been made with his exclusion of people he deems to be not fit enough yet... Something I whole heartedly agree with. If one member of the team isn't fit, then the others will have to carry him through which puts an inordinate amount of strain on other individuals. We saw the affect of this on others throughout last season and it's something that needed to be rectified.
