SUFC knock back Cambridge bid for Charlie Mac....

The Brentford bid was supposed to be around £15k, Tilly wants double.

Think we're a bit cheeky asking for anything considering he was a Bosman and hasn't exactly set the world alight.

We could use Charlie as a makeweight in the move for that Morrison from them, I know their different positions but it could work.

Exactly the conversation I was having with my brother, we put McD on the transfer list then knock back every bid that has come in for him so far.

Any fee is a profit FFS, surely we have bigger fish to fry like replacing the rest of our key players that are on their way out by the looks.

theres no rush to sell him, we can just wait until an offer comes in which meets our demands, any fee is a profit but double the fee is double the profiy

Hardly worth the effort for another 10k ( Ronaldo leaves bigger tips than that at Burger King), let the poor g!t go now & secure a contract elsewhere I say.

Could be we're holding out as a bargaining chip with our other transferred players. May be a case of worrying that if we take the first offer people will think we're desperate for cash, and we'll get less for our more expensive listings.

Well you say that but if you take into account signing on fees, agents fees, a years wages and twenty odd replacement balls which Charlie has lost in training and I think its worth holding on........................

15k would hardly be a profit, we haven't been paying him in grass clippings, have we?

Blimey, every one moans about us wasting money on duff players, and when we have a chance to make a small entry on the black side of the ledger you moan even louder. Plenty of time to find a deal that suits Charlie Mac and us, and I'm sure we will.

Well atleast clubs are intersted in him so he should be off soon, as should harrold...not just about the others that are transfer listed!

Exactly, I would have thought 15k was very reasonable

but why would we accept this £25k bid if we've been offered higher from someone else (as the acticle says)?

Not when you take into account a years salary. My guess is that they want to at least break even on the deal.

That aside, it also comes back to the issue of not accepting a first offer...

Also the echo says today that Hereford have bid 50K for Hooper and we're likely to accpet it.
