How do we know how quick this has been progressing. After all the announcement was made on 17 March which is 10m weeks ago. A lot could have been going on which we have not heard about. This is somewhat confirmed by the fact that Heads of Terms have been issued.

Usually the first draft contract for the sale and purchase of shares is drawn up by the buyer's solicitors and not the seller's solicitors.

Yeah, I don't believe books will be opened and due diligence done until after a bid has been accepted. That's also when the "period of exclusivity" would begin.

The heads of terms is produced by the seller - it's indicating what's for sale. It's not a contract. I think the heads of terms is one of the earlier pieces of paperwork to be produced - not something that appears in the later stages
