suncream...

does it go off?

most the shops are doing BOGOF or half price suncream at the moment, so was wondering if it's worth picking up a few bottles for the honeymoon in march... instead of having to get it when it's out of season and full price? does it go off or anything?

It'll definitely be fine until March. I found an old bottle in the bathroom cabinet the other day that smelt a bit ripe but that must have been about four years old...

Nope, it'll be fine. Still using stuff from a few years ago

cool, we're not even gonna open it (still got dregs left from this years holiday) so i didn't think anything would happen to it.

Sun creams like all cosmetics do have a shelf life.

Do check the 'use by' date. Most creams will last about 2 or 3 years, so it is OK to use last year's, but not a bottle from 5 years ago!

Also note that as the product gets older it's SPF lessens.

on all cosmetics there is a number indicating the number of months of shelf life once opened, in a symbol that looks like a lid

Suncream deteriorates over time, so while one from last year is probably fine I'd be a little dubious about using some that you found at the back of a cupboard from 5 or 6 years ago!

Why not buy a tracksuit instead?

It's a one off expense and will last you years of holidays.

No use by date to worry about and if it has a hood you are completely protected.

Always good to find out whose Ignore List you are on!

Also worth noting that most shops do these 2 for 1 offers every summer to try and make you buy loads. Just buy 2 and you'll be able to get 2 more next year.
