Teacher on trial in Sudan

Imagine if showing contempt for religious beliefs was an offence in this country...It would be the British who would be moaning about the law as they felt it was favouring the immigrants....

We do not have the "over zealous" attitude to religion that other faiths do, unfortunately we tend to forget that when we visit other countries and get caught out when our Liberalism is not accepted.

There have been many Muslims in Sudan and internationally saying this is utter madness and no charges should ever have been brought .

And a Professor today on Radio2 (who is a herself a Muslim) explaining how the charges are entirely down to the local judge and appear to have little constancy . (Not to far removed from ours then ;) )

In fact Muslims all over the world have been condemning this stupidity..... I'll be astounded if she doesn't walk free very soon.
