I see Dean Cox, mentioned on the summer transfer thread, has gone to Crawley Town.

Article about Frank Nouble here, who was mentioned earlier in the thread. Says he's training with a League One club. Would rather we took a punt on him than a has-been like Fortune. Still only 24.

Interesting one. He can't play for them until January, but he's local to there I believe and can go out on loan to a Conf South club if necessary. Crawley clearly willing to stick their neck out on four months' wages without getting anything back in the knowledge they have a quality player for the next 18 months.

Realistically paying someone for four months is not something we could do, but he's comfortably good enough for League One and is the sort of player we are crying out for, creativity and an eye for goal.

Thought he couldn't play in the FL till Jan?

BBC football web page:

League Two side Crawley Town have signed Dean Cox following the winger's departure from Leyton Orient.
The 29-year-old left the O's at the beginning of the month after six years at Brisbane Road, in which he scored 59 goals in 275 appearances.
He has agreed a contract with the Reds until the end of the 2018-19 season.

However, because Cox left Orient after the transfer window closed, he will not be able to make his debut for Crawley until 2 January 2017.

Have seen both playing for WBA and Fortune' (think Adebayor without the goals) is/was much the better player.

Nouble could be better than the rest mentioned to date, get in there , or could it be possibly to late? surely not

We don't need him, we already have a pair of Cox up front
