As I have said before, we could do with an investigative journalist like David Conn of The Guardian, someone who specialises in the goings on at football clubs, to get their teeth into this and cast some light ion the the opaque dealings of Martin. In addition, the National League will hopefully be looking at the club under a microscope in view of the latest shenanigans and as their rules set out, the embargo does not prejudice any other action they might wish to take if other irregularities are found.

I protested with print workers at Wapping in 1986. That did FA too. Protests are a futile vent of angst that generally have no point.

We will have to suck it up and see what transpires. This is a game that is being played out in front of us and we cannot take part. Ron, who I believe genuinely wants to make the club better, neither needs the club or the fans. He would like to please us and put new bounce in his bouffant but it will not come at the expense of his project.

Yesterday was a really rubbish day! The day after a game where we really needed to be celebrating 3 points however, yet again, we were left seeing ANOTHER poor performance.

As if that wasn't bad enough the news of the embargo was not a surprise, almost expected, but it still bloody hurt. This led to a lot of fans being emotional and angry on here, myself included. To some non-football lovers they just cannot understand how hard it is to see your beloved club literally be a laughing stock whilst also feeling completely walked over by Ron, who literally takes the **** out of us.

Yet we still cannot stay away, I've tried and still gone back because it's what I've done since I was a little boy. It's literally like punishing yourself though at present just seeing loss after loss, year after year. It's affects your evenings, your weekends, the days after the game, it just sucks big time.

Right now I want to protest, I want to kick and scream at Ron. Will it do any good, probably not. What good can it do? The recent protests have been worthwhile in my opinion, even if so many say they weren't. They forced Ron to get a CEO, they forced Ron to take a step backwards on his involvement with the club and hire Stan etc, even though I am critical of him, Ron just is not capable.

My point here is that I want to protest, we simply cannot be getting an embargo every year but what would we be the aim of the protest? Without an aim its just pointless. Do we want Martin to sell up for example. Although unlikely, its not impossible. I want to make Martin feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, humiliated.

To those who don't want to protest, that is your right, but my question to you is, at what point would you protest? Even if you know it might not do much, at what point would you think 'sod it, I can't carry on sitting here letting my club die whilst not even trying to do something'. What has to happen for you to change your mind? Relegation to the National league south (or lower)? Or worse, the club doesn't exist anymore?

Something has to be done, there's no doubt about that. But until we have everyone's backing there's not too much point. I just find it so hard to understand that there's so many fans that are willing to literally to do nothing, I genuinely struggle to understand that.

This is a very good post that lays out your emotions and reasons for protest but I could not be part of a protest if the aim was to embarrass and humiliate a man as the end goal.
If all of a sudden a consortium with real and realistic chance of buying Ron out then I would be prepared to protest to achieve this as the end goal. Just can’t see it happening.

IIRC Ron is being done for tax evasion. So what’s to stop him transferring any available funds to an off-shore account where it can’t be touched. If Ron gets found guilty the taxman can’t get this money and Ron gets this money back any prison sentence or costs he has to pay.

The crunch on the official statement for me is this

The very fact that the Club (Ron) have mentioned a reasonable approach suggests that HMRC are in no mood to be reasonable, and why should they? The thing about TTP is that you have to keep up the payments. Being a habitual tax defaulter, both in his businesses and in owning a football club does not give HMRC much encouragement on that front. I really do hope I'm wrong.

I wonder if we already had a time to pay agreement in place, but sadly then missed or were late with a payment. If that were the case, HMRC would then consider the agreement null and void and would start demanding payment in full immediately.

They would do this without warning which may explain the initial shock and horror at the club when demands started to arrive.

When companies default on these agreements, HMRC do not usually look kindly on further requests for time to pay.

I didn't quite say that was the end goal, in fact that was my question. I must admit though, I would like to do that because of how much he's done it to us. Is it wrong to what to return the favour?

If people want to protest go for it but we need to have a valid other option otherwise what are you protesting for? You want Martin out, find show an alternative that can take over if he leaves.

Let's say you protest at the next game and Ron goes fine I'm out, what's the plan? A fan lead group? Potential buyers? Maybe Stan knows people. Are any of these going to be willing to cover the cost's every year and let's not forget if Ron's not in charge we will have to pay rent on the ground and training ground as we won't own either.
