Thanks for that Mick. Tell me what level of referee equates to what level of the football pyramid?.
International FIFA List Referee
Level 1 National List Referee (Premiership and Football League)
Level 2a Panel Select List Referee (Conference Premier)
Level 2b Panel List Referee (Conference North & South)
Level 3 Contributory League Referee (Ryman, Southern, Northern etc)
Level 4 Supply League Referee (lower levels of the pyramid)
Level 5 Senior County Referee. This classification includes Referees who have previously served at a higher level.
Level 6 County Referee
Level 7 Junior County Referee (16 years of age or over)
Level 8 Youth Referee (14 or 15 years of age)
Level 9 Trainee Referee
Level 10 Referee Workforce (if not already registered as an active Referee)
- Tutor
- Assessor
- Mentor
- Coach
Referees will normally act as Assistant Referees at a level or two above where they referee, although there are some Specialist Assistant Referees whose progress as an assistant has outstripped their progress as a referee and who do little else other than assist.
Hope that helps.
