to you he isnt a legend fine have your opinion but why express it on here to rile everybody this is a thread about how well we think he did and what a legend he is if you dont agree cant you just butt out?

Sorry but you are wrong, for the record I don't agree with DWB one iota, however he does have the right to his opinion within the rules of the forum. He hasn't resorted to insults or abuse, although I'd say he's rather laboured his views above and beyond the call of duty.

This is going to turn into (yet) another "Tilly is a legend/oh no he isn't" threads ..

Tempted to lock it actually ....

No it's not, that's been done to death and we all know where we stand. I merely commented on why people would enjoy watching Tilly celebrate, which has been mentioned on this thread, so I think my posts are on topic as I am replying to someone else's post on this thread.

Cos it pees me off when I read that fans enjoyed watching Tilly celebrate a Lincoln win......as much as you all rate Tilly and for the record, i've never said he was a rubbish manager, I'd never enjoy watching another manager celebrate winning against the Blues. My posts on this thread aren't about how good Tilly is etc but juat replied to posts about people being happy watching Tilly win. Very relevant I think you will find.

As you're happy to repeat yourself, I will too. Winning is not everything; honesty, decency and integrity counts for something too.

I agree with you Mick, really I do, but enjoying Lincoln winning and seeing Tilly's face is to the detriment of the Southend players and the loss of 3 points, it won't affect Ron.

If we're 3 points short of promotion a the end of the season ,seeing Tilly celebrate will no doubt mean a lot to some of our 99% suppoters!!

Oh no have I caused a storm again... My first game of season.. Away at Lincoln... Sitting in the echo stand... My days as a fan disappeared last July.. ONE STEVIE TILSON...

For those supporters who said Tilson brought a tear to their eye ????????? get a life. He is just another ex manager. Perhaps we could present Dave Smith with a gift next week.

No, he's not just another ex-manager. Bate, Murphy, Whelan, Little, Martin, Thompson, Morris, Hudson, Williams are all examples of just another ex-manager. This one has spent most of his working life giving sterling service to the club he supported, played for and managed and was treated abominably by this club not once, but twice. I feel sorry for those who can't see beyond getting 3 points on a Saturday.

when I was a a child I used to dream of SUFC beating clubs like Man U and Chelsea - an Essex boy like me made that come true - I made sure that I was not with Southend fans yesterday and I really really enjoyed the Ashley Grimes winner - and I really enjoyed seeing the Lincoln players immediately celebrating with a an honourable and respected football professional - and I thought the homage paid by the massive Shrimp support to Tilson at the end of the game was one of the most moving football occassions I have seen -

And I really enjoyed Tilson thanking the extra 800 or so Southend fans who made the trip yeasterday just for him.......oh, hold on a minute.

No real Southend fan ever enjoys seeing his team lose whatever the circumstances.

Call yourself a Southend fan...that's disgraceful.
