Time to splash some cash ?

With tonight's match getting closer I think that it is time that SUFC dug deep into the "war chest" (or even the income from the Chelsea games) and purchased a new LB as a matter of urgency - the LB I am refering to is a light bulb ! For the last two home games the mens toilet in the West Stand have been in darkness, except for the daylight coming throught the windows, with the Crewe game being a evening kick off we could be vulnerable in this position if it is not filled prior to kick off and people are going to be caught out (short). With the transfer window shut and the fact that obviously money is tight I wonder if we could get a emergency loan LB in for a month, see how it performs and then extent the loan until the end of the season or even (heaven forbid!!) make it stay permanent.

I thought they took the LB out so that it wouldn't disturb all you old timers in the west while you were having a little nap. It's not like you make any noise over there anyway!!!;)

Don't hold your breath - after all, the sound system in the West has been in need of repair/replacement for as long as I can remember!

when I was down for the bristol rovers game I noticed the floodlights were on when it was still daylight, maybe the power supply for west stand gents lights has been diverted to floodlights

I think they used that one for the scoreboard.

Ron Martin says: "I have been in talks with a Premier League side to get a decent light bulb on loan from them. Only problem them is, we want them for the rest of the season but they only want to loan it out for a month"

*He didn't actually say that

Ron Martin says: "We need all the money we can get at the moment, we have got a stadium to build remember. Anyway who needs light, it's not that important, is it?"

Total rubbish.

Ron Martin is fully behind this club and despite the current economic climate he would buy a LB should Tilson find one he wants, or that will want to come to this club.

We dont seem to want to buy any these days anyway and its far more likely we will borrow one from Chelsea. That way we would get a better LB than we would if we bought one, maybe one of those fancy foreign low energy ones.

We had a foreign low energy one before but that was a CF (or once a GK).

I would say that we don't have a war chest, its been plain to see the number of players leaving southend and we only get in loan players.
i would guest the club is on its knees chairman company must be finding things tight, so the club has to tighten its belt.
tilly needs to go back scouting the lower leagues, gower, bailey, hooper and freddy.

thats go back to finding some gems

See Cockles......your not alone ;)

the big q? did we get a new LB?

Yeeessssssssssss. Great news the new "LB" showed up before the game, switched on from the moment he was required, wasn't phased by the occasion and then performed well throughout the match in fact he was the one bright light on display at the Hall last night.

Let's hope that we can keep him for the rest of the season as he certainly has a bright future as long as no other clubs come in for him in the summer when he is surplus to our requirements. :)
