Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation Transfer Thread - Summer 2025 Edition.

Transfer news
I do think a challenge for Kev is signing the right players for the formation he wants us to play.

Harry has been excellent but I don’t see him as a 1 of 2 CB. He’s great at RCB but think we then need a CCB that is dominant in the air, good with the ball and quick (not many of them around the NL I would suggest).

GSM has had a stellar season goals wise but is susceptible to being too easily beaten and his crossing is poor. At RB we lose the goal threat and I don’t see him as a winger.

Even if we had kept Harry C I’m not sure he would have had as good a season as the year before when Jack Bridge was on fire but underwhelmed this year.

I’m hoping with hands untied we will get a better feel for how Kev wants to play rather than has to. It may be just how it is but I wonder if we will see a shift in style.

Goodliffe's got some upsides, but as YB pointed out, he had a mare defensively throughout the playoffs.

If our aim is 7th then I think he's a decent shout, if it's to have a tilt at 1st then he isn't the answer (unless as a backup).
Lets be honest with ourselves , had we Golding or Kensdale playing then IMO we win that game , their reading and positional sense of the game is superior to BG's - however he is an honest pro and seems a top lad

I can't see us going for loans unless we have a crisis during the season. Walks, Kendall and Hopper are under contract which leaves one space if Bonne departs. IMO we need another Cardwell with pace and power.
Surely anyone in their right mind can see there is absolutely zero chance of us having a good season if those are our first choice strikers....

Take Gus and Bims goals out and finishing 7th is a pipe dream.

Im not saying break the bank and all those cliches, but if we want to get out of this league surely we need at least one of the best in the league in each position...

Ps not having a pop at you @Target man , just when you read those names in a list its not good....

Yea not taken it that way at all. Football is always about opinions and this forum is dead without them. I'm not saying they are the answer, just that they're contracted until the end of next season so unlikely to be going.

No mate I was being totally serious
a player that has recently been on the bench for arsenal first team regularly? he wont drop below championship (if he goes to league one it will be probably only be Cardiff). no chance whatsoever he drops to NL
