According to CP we have a 'behind closed doors friendly' against Gillingham today. As well as Gomis Bedsente CP has indicated that the following are also expected to participate.
Chris Phillips ‏@CJPhillips1982 8 h Ex Barnet and West Ham winger Anthony Edgar and former Chelsea striker Bobby Devyne in action for Blues reserves on Tuesday @SUFCRootsHall
I'm assuming that what is refered to as a 'behind doors friendly' and 'reserves' is one of the same? It really opens your eyes to the murky and sad waters on the fringes of the professional game. There are a whole pool of players, desperate to get back into the game. It also shows you how quickly promise of a bright future can quickly turn to disappointment and disillusionment.

Edgar left Barnet at the end of the season but featured for them last in November 2012. So both are in the rather unenviable situation of being rusty and probably miles away from match fitness, yet having to show that they can hit the ground running. In our situation (apart from the loan market), looking at players like this is our only option. You'd like to be generous, if they show promise and say welcome on board .........take a few months to get back up to scratch. Sadly, we are in need of players who will come up with the goods virtually immediately and if they don't there is a sector of our fans that will, VERY quickly be on their backs. Life at the bottom is pretty harsh for players and managers alike.
