Some claim there is a cost of living crisis but according to a you gov poll in today's Sun many people think it would be even worse or no better if Labour had still been in power.
32% think they would have been personally worse off under Labour and a further 31% think they would be in much the same position if Labour in power.
42% think the economy would now be in a worse position if Labour were in power and a further 26% think it would be in similar state.
Latest you gov poll also indicates Labour lead down to only 4%

The survey appears to be asking a question which is likely to give the answer that the poll's client wanted.

Is it really a shock that people dont think the party in charge when we went into meltdown would have made things better?

You'll remember that there was a world wide global recession back in 2008.

Practically all the governing parties in the Western world, which were in office at the time, were voted out of office at the next general election, including here in Spain,France etc

Shame that Labour failed to acknowledge this and continued the big spend.

I don't think they've ever "failed to acknowledge" the 2008 worldwide crisis. You'll no doubt remember Brown's slip about having "saved the world." :winking:

Just as said he abolished "Boom n'Bust" and based spending decisions on that basis such that Labour were running a structural deficit from about 2004.

It is funny how many people describe themselves as Keynesians but only in downturns; they seem very reluctant to run a budget surplus in good times as true Keynes requires. More accurately they can be described as addicts to spending other people's money.
