Useless Youth Team Statistics

Did you know...

That this season, we've used at least 1 product of the youth system in 55% of our competitive fixtures, at least 2 in 21% and 3 or more in 10% of these fixtures?

This is using 6 seperate players (Moussa, Herd, Adameno, O'Keefe, Hazell and Orenuga)

This is a distinct rise from the 05/06 season, where we used 1 youth product in 20% of our games, 2 in just 1 game and we never used 3 or more. These appearances came from just 2 players, Lawson and Adameno.

Yes, i've had a productive day researching for an article i'm writing...

Did you know the youth team lost their first game in over a calendar year, at the weekend. A 2-0 defeat at Luton

At the moment, I know an awful lot about the youth team... All culminating in a 5,000 word article about the progress made, how it corresponds with the FA Action plan regarding youth football and how we can be a model for other clubs.

This fares favourably with other clubs at our level...

Northampton have used 1 youth product in 61% of their games, but have used 2 in 15% and 3 or more in just 3%. This is also spread over 4 youth team products.

This shows that Southend are producing more youth team products into the first team than rival clubs and using them at a greater volume.

Great research, wouldn't mind reading that if you could PM me it or the link, if you don't mind
