Interesting. I assume the main aim is to make the club as self funding as possibly but there is potential for capital investment there

Consortium members: David Kreyling and Tom Arnold are the Founders of CSL Group which drives ‘Sport for Social Change’. Passionate about how sport and physical activity can change lives, they have grass roots involvement in Southend football and other sporting projects.

Jason Brown is a Hong Kong based hedge fund manager who grew up in the Southend area and has been a lifelong supporter of the club.

John Watson is the owner of packaging and taxi businesses in Southend and a Southend United season ticket holder for the past 40 years.

Gary Lockett is a Life-long Southend United fan, chairman of the Southend United Community & Educational Trust (SUCET) and Shrimpers Trust member.

Justin Rees: Co-founded and sold an IT consultancy in Australia but is currently based in Europe. Made his SUFC spectator debut at the Blues' 2-0 away win against Dagenham earlier this season.

Jason Brown, founder of Arkkan Capital in HK

John Watson is Andrews Taxis and Cumberland Packaging guy - had a police investigation back in 2017 in relation to illegal money lending...hopefully nothing came of that, and all was above board.

A bit on Kreyling & Arnold. Kreyling is also or was a hell of a footballer, from my memory of him at senior school. Went on to play at Heybridge, Canvey and Braintree I think. Could maybe do a job! 😂

Letting this sink in, isn't it great that the club is back in the hands of lifelong fans, plus a couple of guys who work in football in the area, and a seemingly friendly yet clearly impressive Aussie businessman (to get Ron to agree to those terms).

Not only that but we're due to stay at and renovate our home, which the vast majority (not all) of fans want to stay at.

Outside of those who were hoping for some Saudi prince, on the face of it this seems about as good as we could have hoped for.
