Wembley tickets

Here's a dilemma for you.
Need 2 tickets for me and my ( grown up ) son.
No luck yet.
Can get a single though.
Shall I grab that and sack him off ?
Nope , not in a million years.
Thought about it though 🤔
I'm in the same boat, and there's no way I'd go without my son. We were at Wembley together 10 years ago when he was 8 years old, and he's remained a Shrimper ever since. Either we both go, or we both don't go.

Mate, it dont take much working out eh ! We all need to get into London, where's the bus package that takes us from Liv St or Fenchurch to Wembley?? With a stop in Marylebone along the way ! TFL wouldve had an easy save face there.
Thinking about this more, the authorities would know for certain we'd not be coming in by train to Wembley, there's bugger all on the roads (sch hols and its a Sunday) and that bus journey would be half hour from the stations to Marylebone and maybe half hour up to Wembley. 10k extra tickets for bus and match combos for Euston, Liv St and Fenchurch.
But of course they wont do that, it would set a precedent and theyd be forced to do it again for the same situation should it arise.
My mate reckoned the FA charity cup last year they culled the attendance, was that right? I feel frustration for Justin, like he says where is their contingency plan? This creation of hundreds of coaches is near on impossible and an administrative nightmare. What do they do in London?? Notting Hill Carnival, what would they do if they had to close a tube station? Lol, i event plan myself once a year and if they didnt see this coming they need to roll some heads.

I don't know how TFL sources their replacement bus drivers but I'd assume (much like how we're struggling to source coaches like the NL want us to) it's very difficult to find hundreds of spare buses on a week's notice and to find hundreds of bus drivers that both aren't already working that day and are willing to give up their Sunday to do it.
They'll have loads of spare buses in the depots as it's a Sunday rather than peak week day.

Shame this games gonna be buried in terms of TV coverage. It’d be a great advert for the NL if it was still on TNT Sports because there’s no other football on, so it would likely attract a bit a neutral interest.

But unfortunately not only is the game on DAZN (which is essentially a niche boxing channel), it also requires a secondary subscription to the National League TV, to be able to watch the game (which I’ve always felt is a total scam, because you didn’t have to pay BT or TNT Sports a second subscription to watch their weekly TV/playoff games).

It won’t really matter to Oldham or Southend fans in the end. But given it looks like we will be smashing the attendance record, it would’ve been good for the game to be showcased on an accessible TV channel.

Absolutely. This is how I missed the Man United match. My Dad could only get 2 tickets. I always went with my son and met my Dad there. In the end my Dad went with my Nephew (who rarely went to matches), but for me it was a principle. However when Fredy scored and we won……..!

Drivers as well though? If someone asked me to work on a Sunday I might do it if they paid me enough and gave me a month's warning but I wouldn't give up my Sunday with 5 days to go.
I reckon they'd get enough with the payment of overtime.

There's probably a better place to run a shuttle service than liv St or fenchurch st though. Need to be nearer to Wembley so each bus can do more than 1 journey and hence less buses needed.

Why are TfL getting the majority of the hate on here? These works would have been planned long in advance and they arent going to change that to alloy a few extra Southend fans to go to Wembley.

The full force of the blame should be aimed directly at the NL. They would have known about this for a long time and regardless of who got to the play offs it is clear they had no intention of getting the top tier open. Every single decision they make is the completely wrong one. When was the last time they done anything in the fans best interest? It is a huge mess and one that I assume could be fairly easily sorted but they won't pay any more than bare minimum and hope the **** storm blows over.

To all the Southend fans without tickets I really hope they sort something out and you all get to come along. I am gutted for everyone without a ticket at the moment. I hope we sue the NL for loss of earnings horrible bunch of c**** they are. Hopefully Sunday we get out of this god awful league.
