Ha, i was quoting the price from around 1968-69!. Was also the time when loads of fans left their programmes on the floor, after the games finished, as they were only 6d- 1/- as well. Could'nt imagine anyone doing that these days!.

One shilling in 1968 equates to 72p at present. So programmes have outpaced inflation by a factor of four. Okay they're bigger and shinier (and contain more errors) but there's a lot of dross in them.

A gallon of petrol in 1968 cost the equivalent of 28p and the average house could be bought for not too much over £4,000.

you'd be surprised, my lad manages to lose half his programmes through the season by either leaving them at the ground or in the pub
