This morning the mood on here was pretty mellow with a lot of people still under the Wembley spell. Transfer discussions going on, Last player standing voting , New kit, the normal stuff for close season, and then BANG, BBBC departs and it all changes. It's amazing how the mood can go from laid back to full on in the space of a few hours.

Tomorrow we will have had our initial reactions and hopefully the club will issue a statement. Then will be the time to move on and start getting focused for new players and a new season. It's never ever boring on here though, is it?

We shouldn't be too worried. Yes he was our top goal scorer. But he wasn't a legend. He walked out and left us. No loyalty in football. The club offered him a deal. He rejected it. No point paying him loads of money. He's probably a league two striker anyway. In Brown we trust!

Couldn't agree more... One player is not bigger than the club. If he wants to stay in league two then good luck to him.... Let's continue to push on in the new season! BLUE ARMY!

If we replace him with better then it's a good thing. wonder if he will take penalties when he starts for his new club.
Good luck Barry but not feeling too upset.

Yes, it's disappointing, but at least this happened now so we can move on and it gives us plenty of time to find the right replacement. We'd all be spitting feathers if this had happened at the end of the month and they'd been no signings. I'm sure PB will make the right choices to take the team forward.

Must admit yesterday was the first tiime since Wembley that I haven't played the extra time and pens. News knocked me a bit at first but we need to move on and support those that stay or come in to the club. Sufc have gone up-fact and Barry Corr is staying down-fact. Bring on the new season and up the blues.

Yesterday I hoped for a statement from SUFC and today we have one............

Come on.firstly it's football, secondly its football and finally it's football.

Good luck to Corr

Trust Southend to find a way to burst the bubble.

No loyalty in football, true, but loyalty works both ways. The club clearly weren't fussed about offering their top scorer a decent enough deal to keep him. They also let his contract run down until May.

..which suggests we didn't want to keep him. Who here would stay loyal to their employer if a better, longer deal came along?

Mods - Now we're a day on, do all the 'Corr' posts and threads get despatched to the Ex Shrimpers corner, because that is what he is now?
